An earthquake has toppled several buildings in the south Taiwan city of Tainan, killing at least three people.
More than 1,500 people are involved in rescue efforts, the disaster center said. Seven other buildings were damaged.
Images posted on social media showed a collapsed building and several people trying to rescue those happy wheels demo who were trapped. Another building was also shown in a partially collapsed state.
The quake was very shallow, at a depth of 10km, which would have amplified its effects, the USGS said.
